Standing Stones in Rogaland
These are probably the most beautiful standing stones I have ever seen ever!

They are like two tall, thin, slender and beautiful needles on a hilltop overlooking the sea and islands around! The guide I used said only "two standing stones, around 6 metres in height", but when I saw them I was amazed how beautiful they look!

I am sure the previous measurement that said "around 6 metres tall" is wrong. I am sure the height must be around 7 metres for the tallest and around 6.5 metres for the other, slightly lower stone.
They are very slender in shape, around 40-50cm wide and with a rounded or oval cross section. Some moss is growing on them.

The tallest stone has previously been broken into two halves and the other stone into three parts, but they have been put together with a mix of cement and iron with bolts through the stones. The repair is easily visible and disturb a little the beauty of the stones, however it does not make the site less fascinating! I was lucky to get to this site in a very nice summer afternoon weather with a lovely low sunlight.

When you see the site, you can't avoid thinking what kind of important person was it that gets such a grave monument!

Did the guide give any idea how old they are or where they come from are they related to the stone carvings by the water?
