homepheus visited on 24th Feb 2022 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 2 Nice and visible during the winter months, with the tree foliage obscuring the view in summer. Access, while not a long way to walk, is nigh-on impossible. A rather oppressive high fence swathed in barbed wire blocks any physical access and to some extent, the view. It may however be open to more clandestine operations, by approaching through a neighbouring field. Nice looking mound otherwise.

Round Barrow(s) in Somerset

From Pastscape: "A bowl barrow known as Wimble Toot. The barrow mound measures around 3 metres in diameter and 2.8 metres high. The surrounding ditch has become partly infilled over time but is still visible on the east side of the mound. A hollow in the centre of the barrow suggests past excavation."
