Diesdorf Steingrab 2
Diesdorf Steingrab 2 submitted by Martin_L : The neglected site viewed from the South. Access only possible out of growing season. June 2009 (Vote or comment on this photo)
Chambered Tomb near Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt

According to Danneil, the site was well preserved in 1843. A North-South orientated chamber (clear size appr. 9 x 2m) is situated near the northern end of a rectangular (or slightly trapezoid) enclosure measuring 24,5m x 10m.
Nowadays 13 (out of 16) orthostats are preserved. All (out of 4) capstones are robbed as well as most of the kerbstones.
Two lower orthostats in the middle of the western long side probably indicate the location of a destroyed entrance-passage.

Remarks: The neglected site is situated in a field. Access only possible out of growing season. Several trees are threatening the integrity of tombs remains.
