Please do vote and comment on any photos that particularly catch your eye. You can score photos for visual or archaeological merit or for any other reason you like. A vote from any person will start off the scoring, remember that you are allowed to vote for your own photos once if you would like to put them forward. Congratalations on your amazing photo MM and thank you for sharing it with all of us. As an astronomer and meganaut it has blown my mind. What effect must this phenomenon have had on our ancient ancestors?

DOLMEN by Anonymous on Friday, 21 November 2014
I am a maze and labyrinth designer and part of my research is into the origins of various things.

The earliest drain or rigoll under giant haystacks was a simple spiral. Then in the Neolithic some brainy person invented what we call the Type 1 Classic Maze.
The central upright pole was the rig. Ropes or riggbands from the halo at the top came down to concentric rings of poles , rig bolls et in the thrashing floor (Greek halos). When the farmers brought their stooks in they exchanged them for the original ***** corn dollies. They were kept on the bankh around the outside in protective buildings, dolmens.
STOOK EXCHANGE; BANKING AND DOLES.

English Maze, German DOLHAUS (House of the dole) Dutch Doolhoof (House of the dole).

If I can add your pictures to my collection it would be helpful. Some of them look like our credit card machines. grahamATgyrdanDOTdemonDOTcoDOTuk
