Country: Syria According to Syrian media, archaeological expeditions working at North-eastern Syria (Hasaka Province) have discovered several collective tombs and parts of seals with different shapes in addition to 27 cuneiform tablets dating back to 2500 BC.
A summary of finds at different excavations were listed by Director of Hasska Antiquities Department Abdul-Masih Baghdo.
*British expedition working at the site of Tal Barak had studied many clay jars discovered at the site. He added that the expedition also studied several archaeological findings to find out the location of the buildings dating back to the Babylonian and Mitanni periods.
*Three collective tombs were also unearthed at the site of Tal Majnuna, dating back to the period between 3600 to 3800 BC.
*The Japanese expedition working at the site of Tal Siker al-Ehmir discovered many residential buildings with stone foundations and floors painted with plaster, inside of which several archaeological artefacts made of clay and firestone were unearthed.
*The American expedition working at the site of Tal Mouzan unearthed parts of a stone-made wall surrounding a temple dating back to 2500 BC along with walls and floors built of bricks dating back to 3600 BC. The expedition had prepared a program to provide services at the site in addition to restoring the palace located there. It also conducted a study on 25 thousand pottery fragments dating back to the middle Assyrian age in addition to studying plant samples as many grains, fruits and vegetables were discovered.
*The Japanese expedition working at the site of Tal Tabban discovered many archaeological buildings, walls and architectural structures dating back to different historical phases, the most important of which were 27 cuneiform tablets.
*The Italian expedition working at the site of Tal Beri discovered brick-built buildings dating back to the first half of the third millennium BC. Many clay pieces were unearthed inside the buildings in addition to discovering an architectural structure dating back to the period between the second and third century AD.
*The Russian expedition working at the site of Tal Khazna has unearthed several buildings and architectural structures dating back to second half of the second millennium BC. Inside the floor of the tower, the expedition unearthed four fireplaces, an oval-shaped building filled with ashes and a number of dolls representing humans and animals in addition to wheels made of mud, blades of sickles and basalt stones used as bases of some tools.
*The Syrian-German expedition working at the site of Tal Fukhira discovered brick-made walls dating back to the Roman era and holes dating back to the Hellenistic era and three phases of the Assyrian age in addition to discovering clay-made tombs built under an architectural structure and many cuneiform tablets.
*The Syrian-Belgian expedition working at the site of Tal Khasham conducted a survey for the current season at the basalt hill, located between al-Shaddada and Murakada cities through which it discovered 24 settlement areas. The expedition also unearthed 8 settlement areas through another survey in addition to discovering hundreds of stone paintings at the site of al-Jawadia.
*The Syrian-French expedition working at the site of Tal Faras last season discovered a building dating back to 3600 BC including many rooms and an oven. Parts of a large room dating back to 3900 BC and residential buildings were also discovered, inside of which many rooms and an oven were unearthed dating back to the period between 3900 and 4300 BC.
*The Syrian-Belgian expedition working at the site of Tal Shaghir Bazar has unearthed a number of plaster-made buildings built on an official building dating back to the Old Babylonian period, inside of which several tombs were discovered in addition to discovering a circular building.(SANA)

Archaeology Department in Daraa city (Southern Syria) discovered on Thursday 3 cemeteries eastern Tal –al-Ashar including a number of important findings of historical values. The three cemeteries date back to 2 thousand BC when Canaanites lived in the region.
Head of Daraa Archaeology Department Hussein Mashhadawi clarified that the archaeological findings are pottery vases and bronze tools.
He also said that during excavation at Kherbet al-Baaleh, eastern Tal al-ashtara, a mosaic picture was discovered dating back to the Byzantine age and bases for houses and buildings for priests and olive-presses were discovered.
Tal al-Ashari is located south-west Tafas city, and people started living there since the Neolithic Age, 8 thousand years BC. (SANA)
