Anyone who reckons there's no shamanistic relationship with rock-art is either stupid or stupid! This aint to say our British cup-and-rings are shamanistic. I for one don't think they are - though they DO relate to an indigenous Dreamtime psychography. But then, so does a great deal else of our Neolithic heritage, from standing stones to wells. Let's just make sure we understand what this 'ere shamanism stuff actually is - and for god sake don't confuse it with ANY of the modern new-age drivel.

One would have to have access to all the sites where "Rock Art" has been discovered, as there are so many repetative symbols worldwide, and being "high" one would have to carve or pockmark with accuracy these very same symbols into stone- I'd love to see one of these so called "experts" do that while they're "HIGH"-
