Colaiste Ide Ogham Stones
Colaiste Ide Ogham Stones submitted by jeffrep : The seven stones at Colaiste Ide include five ogham stones and two pulvinar stones. In County Kerry just west of the town of Dingle. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Museum in Co. Kerry

At Colaiste Ide, an Irish-speaking boarding school for girls, is a fine collection of ogham stones, which were collected from various locales by Lord Ventry.
Five of the stones are traditionally-shaped ogham stones while two are long, rounded water-rolled boulders known as pulvinars. The traditionally-shaped stones now have taken on an orange hue, assumed to have been brought about by the growth of lichen on the stones. Also present at this site is a small, font-like bullaun stone.
