On the top of a hill, in the midst of a very beautiful area: one of the, maybe THE, most beautiful dolmen in northern Germany... the stone tomb of Lehmsiek.

I saw it 2004 the first time, made a trip to it after I saw a picture on the net. But the pictures didn't even show the magical presence of this dolmen. When you come around the right corner in Lehmsiek, it suddenly appears right at the street, up there on the hill like it has been set up there lately by a stone age marketing team. The dolmen stands there free, no fence or anything.

Now at my second visit in 2007 a flock of cows was right there around.

In the evening. The restored dolmen chamber viewed from the SE. It is unknown if it originally was covered by a round barrow or a kerbed long barrow. Both types are common in this area. Scan of photo taken in 2000.

Sprockhoff no. 78 is one of the most remarkable dolmens in Schleswig-Holstein. It's clearly visible from the road, magnificently located on the top of the hill.

The ghost between the Goosefeld Dolmen is not Sprockhoff.

Decay and Resurrection of the Dolmen in Lehmsiek / Goosefeld. The pictures show the tomb 1938, already halfway fallen, and in the ruined state of 1982. In 1986 the resurrection with heavy equipment.
