Listed in Meyn Mamvro's guide to mid-Cornwall as a Roman milepost it later had an early Medieval crosshead carved on top presumably severing a couple of foot off the top. Nowadays the crosshead is long gone and the inscription only faintly legible. This stone reminds me somewhat of the famous Men Scryfa but in a more domestic setting. Highly likely to be a reused menhir and well worth a visit.
