CharcoalBurner89 visited on 1st Jun 2021 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 2 Access: 4 Unfortunately, the entire area is heavily overgrown and due to the death of various trees in this little forest, the area can no longer be walked on without permission. The dead trees also caused slight and serious damage to the megalithic tombs after storms which take them down.

Long Barrow in Lower Saxony, Bremen

A well preserved Long Barrow, size 39m x 7m.
Almost in the middle, an Extended Dolmen.
The 4m x 2m chamber had three orthostats on both long sides,
five of them are still in place.
Two big capstones, also almost in original position.

Most megaliths are preserved, but the earthwork is largely eroded and partly buried the kerb-stones originally supporting it. Some enormous trees are growing in and nearby the site. The chamber measures 5m by 3,5m and is covered by two slightly moved capstones. A part of the NE-longside enclosure is visible. While the earthwork is largely eroded most kerb-stones are preserved. Bliedersdorf Langbett 4 submitted by Martin_L : Rare example of a cup-marked capstone in this area. Several weathered cup-marks are visible on top of the western capstone (photo taken with camera on pole, no climbing involved). They are hard to see and usually get overlooked. At least haven't seen a photo before. Of course they are mentioned in “Atlas der Megalithgräber Deutschlands” and indicated on Schwieger's drawing. Schroller... (Vote or comment on this photo)
