Blatchford Brook Foot Settlement
Blatchford Brook Foot Settlement submitted by thecaptain : Blatchford Brook Foot Settlement is a well preserved bronze age settlement on the eastern flanks of the Erme valley. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Well preserved ancient settlement on the eastern flanks of the Erme valley, on a bend in the river where the Blatchford Brook joins from the west.

The settlement consists mainly of a large circular enclosure incorporating several huts at the uphill side, and several other walled off areas and external structures at the lower side near to the river.

Update August 2019: This site features on the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks (PDW) website - see their entry for the Blatchford Brook Foot Enclosed Settlement. This settlement is also recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 442190 and Devon & Dartmoor HER MDV27894 (Bronze Age settlement north of Blatchford Bottom).

This enclosure with its hut circles is also scheduled as Historic England List ID 1002608.
