Lunardi Stone
Lunardi Stone submitted by trui : Sarsen stone is open to view with access by a footpath from opposite Knoll Farm. (Vote or comment on this photo)
This sarsen stone was moved from the estate of the Lord of the Manor of Bengeo, Hertford, to this site to commemorate the final landing point of the first flight of a manned hydrogen balloon to ascend in England.

It took off from London Moorfields on 15th September 1784 and the lord met Vincenzo (vincent) Lunardi (1759/1806).
