Black Hill Ring Cairn
Black Hill Ring Cairn submitted by rich32 : Black Hill ring cairn, Black Hill, Low Bradley Moor, North Yorks, SE0081447654 This site is hidden under quite thick heather, the only way to spot it is by its banks, which still measure 40cm or so. In this picture the light brown reedy like thing just to the left of centre, is in the centre of the cairn circle. Once at the site, up the hill & to the south east you can see the remains of Bla... Ring Cairn in Yorkshire (North)

This ring cairn / cairn circle lies on the Black Hill part of Low Bradley Moor. Its quite difficult to find as its under heather, but you can just about make out the banks of the circle. It has a diameter of about 20meters and only a few stones are visible in the centre.

Its 50 meters NW of Black Hill round cairn & 80 meters W of the long barrow. Interestingly, the location chosen for this ring cairn is on a dip & its one of the few areas on top of the moor where the long barrow cannot be seen.

This 'incomplete circular bank barrow or ring barrow' is recorded as part of Pastscape Monument No. 48086. The Journal of Antiquities also mentions this cairn, now "only just visible … but now virtually lost in the thick heather" in their entry for the Bradley Long Cairn, Farnhill, North Yorkshire - scroll down to the bottom of their web page for more information.
