Wildeshausen Hohe Steine
Wildeshausen Hohe Steine submitted by Martin_L : View along chambers' southern longside: Damaged by blasting attempts, but largely complete megaliths. The largest capstone was placed at chambers centre where the entrance passage was located. It has a flat surface on its southern side. The passage is largely overgrown. Chamber appr. 19m by 3m (ends)/4m (centre). Oval enclosure appr. 23m by 10m. [1] The whole ensemble is deeply embedde... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Wildeshausen Hohe Steine
Wildeshausen Hohe Steine submitted by Martin_L : Pole aerial view from the SW. Skeleton of a passage grave inside 23m by 10m enclosure. Although some stones are robbed the enclosure is almost complete. The chambers' megaliths are well preserved too. Only few stones are robbed or show signs of blasting attempts. Nevertheless the historic activities including removal of drywalling and all intermediate stones caused most capstones to collapse into ... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Wildeshausen Hohe Steine
Wildeshausen Hohe Steine submitted by Martin_L : The passage grave viewed from the east. Chamber appr. 19m by 3m (ends)/4m (centre). Oval enclosure appr. 23m by 10m. [1] The megalithic skeleton is almost completely preserved, but the capstone are fallen as as a result of historic destruction attempts (removal of drywalling). Many thanks to S.Mahlstedt, B.Rothmann and S.Mahlstede who recently cleared the site from all the massive undergrowth.... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Wildeshausen Hohe Steine
Wildeshausen Hohe Steine submitted by greywether : Overgrown and hemmed in with trees (in August 1994), this is not a very photogenic site. It is 17m long E/W chamber with an entrance to the S and surrounded by the kerbstones of a rectangular cairn. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Wildeshausen Hohe Steine
Wildeshausen Hohe Steine submitted by Martin_L : View from the NE showing eastern half of the chamber. Most capstones are fallen of their orthostats. Maybe this is a result of the removal of all the drywalling and intermediate stones. Some stones have drillholes in it to prepare them for blasting (April 2008).
