Stöckse Teufelsbett
Stöckse Teufelsbett submitted by Martin_L : Pole aerial view from the NE. Chamber, approx. 12m by 4m (clear 11m by 3m) The famous "Giebichenstein" erratic is visible right upper corner. September 2012 (Vote or comment on this photo)
Massive neolithic chambered tomb. Clear size 11m by 3m. Oriented appr. NE-SW. Five out of six orthostats are preserved at each long side. The SW narrow-side orthostat is preserved while the one of the other narrow side is robbed. The orthostats are more than halfways embedded into the ground.

Chambers' capstones have been destroyed in historic times. Only some fragments remained. Nevertheless an impressive monument.

The site is not signposted, but cannot be missed just by following the several signs pointing towards the famous "Giebichenstein" erratic which is just appr. 60m away.
