Mehringer Steine 2 submitted by Martin_L : South-western half of the chamber. 9 out of 11 eleven capstones are preserved, but often fallen into the chamber as a result of the historic destruction attempts. Mehringer Steine 2 submitted by Martin_L : Capstone 3 (counting from the West) of this 11 capstone passage grave is still in situ. Tomb measuring appr. 22m x 4m, clear length appr. 20m, clear width from 1,4m at the narrow sides up to 2m in the center (Sprockhoff et al., Atlas der Megalithgräber Deutschlands). Oval enclosure 26m x 9m. At least 22 out of probably 40-45 kerbstones are preserved, but often fallen to barrows' outside. April 20... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Adjacent capstone 3 is still in situ and visible in the background. Just visited this site. Pictures by Martin_L and madcat of Mehringer Steine 2 belong to Mehringer Steine 3 and vice versa (or their locations should be switched).

    Thx, but no, the photos are correctly attributed. Though the coordinates of RunaStera were off a bit and have been changed now. For official numbering check for example "Atlas der Megalithgräber Deutschlands. Teil 3. Niedersachsen - Westfalen" please. cheers.
