Burial Chamber (Dolmen) in Malta. By the road from Mosta to Gharghur there are 2 dolmens in a walled enclosure. This is the smaller and less well preserved of the two. See our nearby sites list for the other.

It lies very close to the ground with one side on the edge of low rock and the other on small stones. The capstone is 3 metres long with a width varying between 1.5 and 2 metres.

MALTA Origins by Tuatha on Friday, 16 December 2016

It is truly amazing that such tiny islands had so much construction - they could not have sustained the populations necessary and this would suggest that they were specifically chosen as exemplars and special displays.
