Castle Hill (Shropshire)
Castle Hill (Shropshire) submitted by TimPrevett : SO461959; lovely views to the E to Caer Caradoc, and NE to The Wrekin. What may remain of ramparts is probably underneath fern, fireweed, and brambles. It has been argued to be a defended Iron Age settlement, shorn up on 3 sides by human efforts, defining an area about 60 by 90 feet. A ditch and bank is supposed to be visible on the W. This view is looking towards Church Stretton and really is all... (Vote or comment on this photo)
Hillfort in Shropshire

What may remain of the ramparts is probably underneath fern, fireweed, and brambles. It has been argued to be a defended Iron Age settlement, shorn up on 3 sides by human efforts, defining an area about 60 by 90 feet. A ditch and bank is supposed to be visible on the W. Coming off the Long Mynd from the road to the west, the hill's defensive capability is obvious.
