A circle of 12 large stones (2 forming a portal, with the axial stone opposite) is surrounded by a low earthen bank with a shallow ditch, similar to the circle at Glantane East. The axis points WSW and thus, unlike the nearby circles of Bohonagh and Drombeg does not relate to the sunset at either solstices or equinox.

There are several other axial-stone circles in the neighbourhood, including one marked 'Stone Circle' on ½ in sheet 24, 3.2km (2 miles) due N of the Reanascreena site and 100 meters E of a byroad in Maulatanvally. Only 7 stones survive, including one portal stone 1.4 meters high. Small quartz pebbles surround a central white quartz boulder.
Access: (4.8km (3ml) NNW of Ross Carbery and 800km (1/2ml) NW of a byroad at a height of 170m (570ft) and 3.2km (2ml) due S of the 'Stone Circle' marked on the map. [AW]

This is difficult to find and is two or three fields away from the road. The first farmhouse I asked at had somebody in the house who refused to come to the door. I got lucky second time with another farm. [CH]

Cork (W265 410): The "ring of the shrine", is a delightful monument which amply repays the considerable effort required to reach it. Emerging from an abundance of reeds this twelve stone circle is just over 9m in diameter and is unusual in being surrounded by a wide ditch (often full of water!) and an equally wide low bank with no gap f... Does anyone know which is the best side to access Reanascreena Circle? It is several fields in from all roads around, with 2 farms and tracks leading just to its south. Also 2 the East the lane looks 2 fields away. Any help appreciated :0

From what i remember (My photo's above are far older than the date i put them on here) there was no problem visiting from the East, The field gates take you there (No jumping over walls or barbed wire), I do remember it felt further from the road than i thought it would be though.

I've noticed that it says it is a circle of 12 large stones, there are actually 13.
