Bosporthennis Well
Bosporthennis Well submitted by lucasn : Bosporthennis Holy Well, which once almost as renowned for its healing properties as Madron Well (Vote or comment on this photo)
Formerly as famed a well as Madron where children were taken to be cured of skin diseases. Bosporthennis well was destroyed after the tenant farmer illegally built a trout pond, messing up the flow of the river. The Penwith Landscape Partnership and Cornish Ancient Sites Protection Network are currently in the process of restoring it, which has involved clearing vegetation back and cutting down a troubling willow tree.

Re: Bosporthennis Well by Anonymous on Monday, 18 October 2010
When a bit clearer of vegetation, this well is rather nice, with a double capstone over it. I rediscovered it in the late 70s when looking for lost wells (I also found Venton Zennor and Venton Bebibell), and hoped it hadn't been destroyed. It was supposed to be second only to Madron Well in terms of its healing powers.

WE THINK IT LOOKS A LOT BETTER IN 2006!
YES IT IS VERY BOGGY AND GRASS AND REEDS HAVE GROWN OVER THE MAIN STONE, BUT THE WATER BUBBLES UP BEAUTIFULLY, A REALLY LOVELY PLACE, GLAD TO HAVE FINALLY FOUND IT.
