Ffynnon Ddewi (Abergwesyn)
Ffynnon Ddewi (Abergwesyn) submitted by geoffstickland : The site of the buried spring. The simple stone structure remains below ground level and the water piped to a newly created water feature about 20' feet away. (Vote or comment on this photo)
The spring has been buried and the water piped to a modern water-feature about 20' away. The landed owner, who covered the well in recent times, said that there was a stone structure and that the well never dried up.

It caused the area around it to become water-logged and boggy and so it was covered and piped to the newly created pond.

The Coflein entry for Ffynnon Ddewi:

"Site Description 1. Holy well near Llanddewi Abergwesyn church.

2. Mentioned in Lhuyd's 'Parachialia' iii 51 (Arch Cam Supplement 1911), this should be taken as evidence for a post-Reformation, rather than a medieval, or prehistoric well cult.
