Conies Farm Stone Circle
Conies Farm Stone Circle submitted by ESgt : The Railway map dated 1883 shows the location of Conies Farm where a stone circle is thought to have been. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Possible Conies Farm Stone Circle now destroyed with approximate location taken from an old map but not precise as just about all features have been removed.

Destroyed by a gravel quarry that is now a pool in the Attenborough Nature Reserve.

Re: Conies Farm Stone Circle by Anonymous on Tuesday, 13 February 2024
I overlaid current satellite mapping on the 1883 map, using maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16.8&lat=52.89734&lon=-1.24072&layers=6&b=1
Part of the possible stone circle (shown by a distinctive circular line on the old map) is still on land, ie it hasn't been destroyed by gravel pit excavation.
Any chance of further investigation to see what remains there might be? Note it is called Coneries Farm on the map (not Conies Farm).
