Modern Stone Circle in Derbyshire

In 2011 this unique celestial amphitheatre and 21st century stone circle was officially unveiled. It invites a connection with the stars and mysteries of the universe.

The StarDisc is located high above Wirksworth in Stoney Wood in the Derbyshire Dales, part of a former limestone quarry that has been transformed into community woodland. It has attracted and inspired thousands of visitors; many have experienced one of the numerous exciting events that have been staged there.

Stardisc Wirksworth
Stardisc Wirksworth submitted by Flickr : Wirksworth StarDisc by night Created by artist Aidan Shingler, this 21st century stone circle and celestial amphitheatre. I've taken quite a few shots of the Star Disc but never at night, I've seen some nice shots of the disk at night time and thought I would give it a shot. This is my first attempt at night photography and any advice would be very much appreciated as always,,, 25sec @ f...
