Standing Stone (Menhir) in Aberdeenshire. In a field just off the road past Torphins Golf Club this stone is on a south spur and has good views to E, S & W. It is 4'2" tall by 2'6" thick and is quite narrow in depth. The alignment is almost due N-S. No obvious cup marks. Local tradition holds that it marks the site of a "druidical temple" (stone circle).
