hallsifer visited on 29th Jul 2022 - their rating: Cond: 4 Amb: 4 Access: 5 Gorgeous stone that’s very easy to find with the driveway to Brodie castle going right past it, makes for fab access. There’s an info plaque that’s brief but still great, ogham is unfortunately incredibly faded away.

livingstone visited on 26th Nov 2010 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 3 Access: 4 A fine example, now stands out in the open without case. will soon become damaged by weather. Interestingly the reverse side of stone shows Christian attempts to cover over older carving

Brodie submitted by Cosmic : Brodie at NH984577 Rodney's Stone is in the grounds of Brodie Castle and has been moved/re-erected on the current site It has a protective canopy and stands about six feet tall The west side has a cross whilst the east side is Pictish symbols (Vote or comment on this photo)
Class II Pictish Symbol Stone in Moray

Brodie, Moray NH95NE 3 - “Rodney’s Stone”; Class 2; Ogham is on each side of the front and on the back of the slab and considered to be the longest Ogham inscription in Pictland. The characters are well weathered and include “EDDARRNONN”.

The Ogham characters seemingly spell out a personal name. The same characters are on the Scoonie Stone and are considered to be a Brythonic personal name.

Brodie
Brodie submitted by LizH : Unless this is a facsimilie, there is no longer a glass case round the stone and it was much easier to photograph when I visited. Sad for the stone though. This is the back (cross-side) of the stone (Vote or comment on this photo)

Brodie
Brodie submitted by Cosmic : Re sampled photo. I (Thorgrim) had to increase the contrast and super saturate the colour. You can't use flash so close without a white out.
