Ancient Village or Settlement in Tunisia

Remains of 27 BCE Roman town built over Punic or Numidian town. Unfortunately, during my visit, no real trace of the earlier civilisations could be found. The Existance of a Temple of Baal as well as a Temple of Cealestis (Tanit) however suggests a thriving local population, even if heavily Romanized. A large percentage of the town hasn't been excavated and it is unlikely anyone will dig beneath the representative Roman buildings. Altitude 198 Meters
