Museum in La Spezia

About 16 Lunigiana type Statue Menhir / stelae were found starting in 1867 near the village of Zignago, within the underground and abandoned near Taponecco, under the basement of the Sorano church or in the mountain woods near Pontevecchio and Filetto, as well as 2 more under water in the La Spezia gulf, which are now lost. 6 of these stelea are now shown in the La Spezia Ethnographic and Civic Museum and 8 in the Pontremoli Museum. Reproductions of some, (including the 2 lost statue menhir made from old drawings at Pontremoli), are located in either museums.
