Bevern Huegelgraeber
Bevern Huegelgraeber submitted by Nype : At least 4 barrows can be found here. Two are of a decent size, one is squeezed in between, one is smaller and there are probably some more. Although the site is only a few steps from the country road, it is not easy to access due to a lot of brambles. The site looks more idyllic on the pictures then it is! There is an official sign, but the post has fallen to the ground and nobody cares about it.... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Although the site is only a few steps from the country road, it is not easy to access due to a lot of brambles. The site looks more idyllic on the pictures then it is! There is an official sign, but the post has fallen to the ground and nobody cares about it. There is a raised hide on one of the large barrows and the dog found hair and skin remains of an obviously butchered wild boar.
Still, the meadows and woods around make the area worth a trip and a walking tour. Pictures were taken on 14.04.2011. The trees are starting to get leaves. Probably in summer, the site will not be visible at all!
