Rock Art in Lombardia

Val Sterla is a summer pasture above Madesimo.
The valley is rich in waterfalls and its grassy terraces are littered with massive boulders.
Until a few years ago there were also several buildings used by the shepherds, nowadays only one remains standing and a sculptured boulder forms part of its external walls.
When that boulder came crashing down into its final resting place, it divided into two halves; most of the incisions can be seen inside the split (that runs north to south), they are carved into the vertical faces of the stone.
There are many small and rough around the edges incisions, they are scattered all over, from close to the ground to the very tip of one face of the stone; sometimes they are isolated, sometimes in small groups, and their positioning is not mirrored from one half of the boulder to the opposite one. Maybe it was believed the powder from the rock would have thaumaturgic effects?
But there's one engraving that stands out, it is shaped like an almond, very deep; underneath it two lines are carved in the stone face to form a rhomboidal pattern.
There is a second almond shaped engraving, this one carved on the outside of the boulder (west facing side), to me the colour of the stone makes it look like a giant eye.
Finally, there's a flat stone with a single cup mark near the entrance of the building, but that is a very common occurrence in Alpine villages, no picture posted.
