Bronze Age nuraghe and associated settlement in Sardinia (Sardegna)

This nuraghe and associated nuragic settlement is located 500 metres walk through a wood from Seleni Tombs I and II. In October 2010 the whole expansive site was under excavation and fenced off but I was lucky enough to be given an escorted tour around the site by a local guide. The nuraghe is under renovation whilst the many hut circles that surround it are being excavated. Amazingly there are lots of Middle Bronze Age pot sherds lying on the ground. There are a number of other tombs nearby including the impressive Seleni Tombs I and II, and a sacred well on this 1000 metre granite plateau. The information office is adjacent to Seleni Tomb I. The site is located in the Bosco Seleni Park on a plateau overlooking the hill town of Lanusei. Take the SS198 north west from Seleni towards Gairo and the site is signposted on the left of this road in the Bosco Seleni Park.
