San Giuseppe submitted by CoppellaiaMatta : Moss and cup marks. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Rock Art in Lombardia

Me and my sister were looking for a good spot to take a picture of the autumn foliage whilst on a stroll in San Giuseppe, above Ardenno (Sondrio Province). We took our shots and looked down at the phone screens to check them out but our eyes run to the ground and to a slightly rounded stone at our feet.
Yes, there they were! Cup marks, some still in plain view, many covered in moss, probably more than 40 of them, carved on the whole surface of the stone! What a sight!
We asked the locals about the finding and were told that originally there were two carved stones in that field but unfortunately one was used many many years ago on a building site.
