Under the title “The World of the Celts. Centres of power – Treasures of art”, the Baden-Württemberg State Museum of Archaeology and the Württemberg State Museum are showing a special exhibition dedicated to the Celts of the first millennium BC and their role as one of the formative forces in European history.

Running until the 17th February 2013, visitors can experience what will probably be the largest exhibition of Celtic artefacts in the last thirty years. The special exhibition will present outstanding original finds, in some cases objects never before exhibited in Germany, in two large topical blocks on display at two locations near Schlossplatz at the very centre of Stuttgart.

Centres of power - on display in the Stuttgart “Kunstgebäude”, illustrates the evolution of Celtic civilization in Central and Western Europe between the 7th and 1st centuries BC – from the start of the Iron Age to the arrival of the Romans.

Treasures of art - in the “Altes Schloss”, focuses on the uniquely creative art of the ancient Celts, which constituted the first significant contribution of a northern civilization to European art history.

General Admission
Adults: 15 €, reduced 13 €
Children/Youth (Ages 6 - 18 ): 3 €
Audioguide: 2 € (languages:german, english)

Funny ads for the exhibition ‘World of the Celts’ in Stuttgart

The state museum of archaeology in Stuttgart is showing a special exhibition ‘The World of the Celts‘ . You can go and see it until 17th of February.

On this occasion they published some funny Videos. Although the Celtic warriors appear a tad too barbaric, the videos are quite some eye-catchers :)
