Stone Circle in Lombardia

Two concentric stone circles of 67 and 69 metres diameter created by the Golasecca culture dating from the 7th and 6th centuries BCE. There is a 27 metre diameter circular platform in the centre partially made of cobblestones.

Possibly used for astronomical observations.

Re: Cerchio di Como by Anonymous on Sunday, 09 July 2017
Visited July 2017. Both circles almost completely destroyed by the building of a new hospital. Only 4 stones left standing, and the cobblestone surface recorded previously has been obliterated; what a crime! Neither has the landscape been spared, and it is almost impossible to determine the original scope of this site.
Access is good for the remaining stones, just walk down the left side of the hospital and they are on the left.
Access: 5. Condition: 1. Ambience: 1

Information about the possible astronomical use of this stone circle (in Italian) at ACAM - Associazione Culturale Archeologia e Misteri.

And a lot more (in Italian) here - Il grande osservatorio astronomico dei Comenses.
