Buduruwagala is an ancient Buddhist temple and rock carving site of the 7.-10. century CE. The site consists of seven statues and belongs to the Mahayana tradition. The largest Buddha statue is 16m tall. The central of the three figures to the Buddha's right is probably the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.
