The Wallburg Wittekindsburg is a hillfort in Porta Westfalica (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). The hillfort dates from the Pre-Roman Iron Age and was used from the 3rd to the 1st century BC.
The hillfort measures 650 x 100 m. The northern and eastern ramparts are still relatively well preserved. The southern part had a weaker fortification, because it was mainly protected by the steep mountain side. The enclosure included also a well for the supply with fresh water.
The hillfort was reused in the 7th century AD by the Saxons. The hillfort was therefore named after their leader Wittekind.
