Additional information submitted by Drew Parsons October 2010: This is an enormous tomb set on a high plateau just outside the village of Siddi. It is built of huge isodomic basalt blocks with a large burial chamber 10 metres long by 1.25 metres wide with a truncated cone cross section narrowing towards the top of the chamber. Inside the chamber there is a niche near the entrance. The forecourt is built of rows of huge, rectangular blocks of stone and measures 18 metres across whilst the overall length of the monument is 15.2 metres oriented towards the south east. Excavations revealed furneral remains including pot sherds dated back to the Middle Bronze Age (16th century BC). It is thought that the site was in use over a long period of time and traces of carbon were found on a layer above the pot sherds. Later dated finds at the site include Carthaginian and Roman items. The site is well signposted although remote. To reach it take the Siddi to Gonnostramatza road to the top of the plateau (just before the provincial boundary) and turn right at the site sign on to a maze of concrete tracks. Follow this concrete lane and site signs around the plateau for approximately 2.5 kilometres to reach the site. There is a car park there. To return to the main road continue in the same clockwise direction around this concrete road for 2 kilometres (which makes a circuit around the plateau). The site underwent restoration work after a collapse of some parts of the tomb in th 1940s.
