Prehistoric settlement in Sardinia (Sardegna)

A hilltop located South-West of Ales is occupied by ruins of a medieval castle built on the ruins of a Byzantine fortress (sherds of Byzantine pottery from the 6th-7th century were found). The most impressive architectural element of the castle is a decagonal tower. The site was a place of human settlement in prehistory - obsidian artifacts from the Neolithic and/or Chalcolithic period were found here.
