This place shows a stone circle of elliptical shape. In addition, two sunken blocks of stone, about 50 cm high above ground, about 70 cm long, about 40 cm wide, 27 m apart from the stone circle.

Richard Walker measured the site in April 2020. He presumes that this place had a calendric function in ancient times, for agriculture. The line would go from the stone circle towards the gap between the two blocks (or vice-versa). The azimuth he calculated is 61°, 241°. This azimuth corresponds to 1 month before and after summer solstice sunrise, in our area (47°N). 1)

I perceived a wide-open space towards the sky, above the elliptical stone circle.

The stones are in a moor area under today`s nature protection. 2) You can’t notice this on site, it doesn’t have any nature protection signs. Please do not enter the moor area during the growing season. Rare flowers grow here. I visited the place twice in February, on dry days. One can study the place from next to the road. Alternatively, by going into the forest opposite the road and walking along the edge of the forest. The forest is not under nature protection. Thank you for your consideration.

Nearest stop of public transport: “Uerzlikon, Kappelerstrasse”. From there, follow the Kappelerstrasse in the direction of Kappel am Albis.

There are different forest roads close to the site. You can park your car in a reasonable place along the forest roads.

The Swiss Inventory of Archaeological Stones, www.ssdi.ch not yet approves this place.
