Sculptured Stone in Piemonte

The hamlet of Montorfano is surrounded by the Codelago dam in beautiful Val Devero (Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola). There, the low walls of a garden include a stone with a single cup mark and another with seven separate cup marks. Past the hamlet a little votive chapel and a stone with four cup marks (two joined) coexist. As seen elsewhere, rituals and beliefs change through the centuries but the bond with certain places remains.
