Standing Stones in Kutch, Gujarat, India
The Khadir island is in the great Rann of the kutch Salt Plains. In the monsoon season, when sea water from the Arabian sea floods the Rann, the land above sea level becomes an island. Khadir is the biggest island in the Great Rann of Kutch with few villages and farms. Khadir is situated in the important Hindus Valley Civilisation site Dholavira. I visited the island in April 2005 (dry season) and found there ancient Menhirs all over the island especially on the hills east of Dholavira. In Dholavira, I Met Dr. Nurial the chief of the excavations teem. He took me around the site but I was not aloud to take photos, so I was satisfied with taking few photos of the site from outside and took photos in the rest of the Island.
