Barrow Cemetery in Aust-Agder
Stallemo is one of the largest barrow cemeteries in Vennesla. It consists of 32 barrows, 24 round barrows, 7 long barrows and one unique cross-shaped barrow.

The barrows are found on a natural flat terrace next to the river. The main road cuts straight trough the terrace and the barrows are found on both sides of the road. The west side of the road have been cleared of large trees just recently to make the cemetery easier to see. The barrows here are covered with high grass and some smaller trees and tree stumps.

The cross shaped barrow has long middle axis, around 18 metres long and 5 metres wide. The "arms" that meets the barrow in the middle are both around 12 metres long. The barrow is around 1 metre in height and some sunken in the center.

The largest round barrow is around 17 metres in diameter and around 2 metres in height with clear ditches around it. Most of the other barrows are around 11 to 15 metres in diameter and 1 to 1,5 metres in height. Most of them have clear ditches around them and some have "bridges" across the ditch. The long barrows are from 15 to 21 metres long, around 3-5 metres wide and from 0,5 to 1,5 metres in height. Most of the barrows seems to be undisturbed and have no big craters in the top. It is uncertain if or how many barrows have been destroyed by construction of the main road.

Several barrows have been excavated years ago and giving very rich findings of artifacts, one was a very rich chambered female tomb. Most of the artifacts found have been dated to migration period (400-600AD). The site have a small parking lot and information posters.
