The Hoggandvik runestone is from the farm named Hoggandvik. It was discovered during gardening work in 2009. It has the second longest known runic inscription with the elder futhark (the oldest form of the runic alphabet) and consists of 61 runes.
The stone is 145 centimetres high, 23-25 centimetres thick and 155 centimetres wide. It was found with the runic inscription on the side facing down. It is believed it once was standing upright as with other known runestones.
The ground under the stone was investigated and a large Iron Age grave was found, however, the burial was not excavated. The stone has been dated to around 400AD. The text is in 4 lines, the third line has been very difficult to interpret. It is believed to be some kind of runic spell or curse.
The runic writer presents himself with name and also writes he is called The Wolverine.

The runic inscription line by line is believed to mean:
A: Kelba-Thewar's stone
B: Inside the walls/house or Needle? (the meaning is unclear)
C: My name is (the rune writer) Nødgjest
D: I am called the wolverine
