About 200 barrows were reported around 1900. Today, about 80 barrows are still detectable above the ground. Grabhügelfeld Dülmen-Welte is together with the cemetery Ramsdorf in Velen one of only two sites in Westphalia, where the mounds of long barrows have been preserved. The six remaining long barrows are between 12.5 m and 19.5 m long and 0.5 m to 0.6 m high.
