Ancient Temple in Saarland

Ancient sanctuary/temple of the persian god of light, Mithras. This religion came from persia over turkey by roman soldiers to Roman Europe and South Germany, in the 1st century CE. At this site you can see a cave in the rock and some niches. The Mithras cult relief at the back wall of the cave was probably destroyed by Christian bigots.
