The Ruhr Museum is a museum in Essen (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). It is situated in the old coal preparation plant of the UNESCO world heritage site Zeche Zollverein.

The permanent exhibition deals with the geology and history of the Ruhr valley and is one of the oldest and biggest collections in this area.

The pre- and early history section displays finds e.g. from the Balve cave (Balve), the chamered tomb Düwelsteene (Heiden) or the barrow cemeteries Radberg-Hülsten (Reken) and Wedau (Duisburg).

The special exhibition Nofretete, Ramses und Osiris - Die Ägyptische Sammlung (30. September 2017 – 2. April 2018) can be seen in the Museum Folkwang Essen.
The Museum Folkwang is an art museum that is ca. 15 min. away from the Ruhr Museum.
