Cist in Drenthe
The first phase consists of a partly buried cist of the Trechterbeker culture, covered by a layer of sand and boulders. A small and flat tomb was made below this small hill. At the time of the Klokbeker culture, another grave was laid; the older cist was partly destroyed. Capstones from the older grave may have been removed. Finally a hill was raised over this Klokbeker grave.
Supplements were found in all graves. The oldest cist contained a relatively large number of objects, including beakers, flint axes and arrowheads, fire strokes and an amber bead. After the excavation (1929) the hill has been restored.
