Ancient Village or Settlement in Rogaland. This is the other large settlement site in Dirdal valley. It is located on a flat terrace close to the river in flat grassland. It is inside a fenced in grazing ground. I was only able to get photos from outside the electric fence surrounding the site.
According to kulturminnesøk, the settlement consists of one long house mark. It is 29 metres in length and 5-6 metres wide. It is divided into two rooms and have very clear walls. Two remains of ancient stone fences. They are 225 metres in length and very clear in the terrain. They run paralell to each other in NW direction. The house remains and stone fences are easily visible on sattelite photos.
The settlement also consists of at least 20 burial cairns and around 30 clearance cairns. Some of them can be difficult to distingish from each other. The largest burial cairn is 12 metres in diameter and 2,5 metres in height. It is easiliy visible from the road. I could see and photograph several burial cairns from outside the fence. The rest of the burial cairns are from 3 to 9 metres in diameter and up to 1,5 metres in height.
