Standing Stone (Menhir) in Sogn og Fjordane
This pretty standing stone was until some few years ago tilting so much it was almost falling over. When some local people decided to put it straight and make supports around it, they also found a burial under the stone, the burial was not completely excavated.
The stone itself is 2.5 metres in height, around 60 cm wide and around 30cm thick. The top of the stone is straight. It has the shape of a standing slab with smooth edges.
The stone is located in a open field with short grass and it makes the stone very easy to see from the road and from miles away.
