Standing Stone (Menhir) in Hordaland
This standing stone is one of the most beautiful stones I've seen on this trip of 2014! It is tall, it is measured to be 5.25 metres in height, around 70 centimetres wide at the base and around 15cm thick.
The stone has a smooth surface and the top ends in a small point. It has previously been used as a bridge over a small river, it was moved back to its original place some years ago. It has a beautiful view over the Hardanger fjord! This stone makes an impressive and beautiful Iron Age burial monument, and it is well worth a stop to behold!
