Menhir d'Ondenval
Menhir d'Ondenval submitted by Alta-Falisa : The so-called "Menhir d'Ondenval", mid-March 2015. (Vote or comment on this photo)
The "Menhir d'Ondenval" does not show any wear and tear one would expect of a neolithic menhir, and is most probably a random stone.

The stone was found in one of the largest forest of the region, the Wolfsbusch (about 50.359, 6.091), rich in rock outcrops – a particular spot called "Am Stein" is rather impressive and popular.

It is now used as a monument dedicated to the victims of WWI and WWII. Nevertheless, we shall stick to the local traditional name.

Menhir d'Ondenval
Menhir d'Ondenval submitted by Alta-Falisa : A photo most likely taken just after the erection of the menhir, i.e. shortly after WWII. The two millstones to be seen on this photo have been removed by now : one is on the other side of the square (about 15 m behind the photographer), the other in another place of the village.
